Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed by this Twitch Extension, how it is used, and how long it is stored. The Extension is used to let viewers select predefined Extension buttons that trigger saved SAMMI button events for on-stream digital interactions through Twitch.

Data Processed When You Use the Extension

  • Twitch opaque user ID
  • Twitch User ID where Twitch provides it for logged-in users
  • Twitch username where available
  • Broadcaster ID / channel ID
  • Button interactions and extension activity
  • Power total and Power activity inside the extension
  • Agreement records showing that the EULA and Privacy Policy were accepted
  • Moderation records where an interaction or a channel has been restricted, including which interaction was removed, the reason, and a record of the broadcaster acknowledging the notice

Data Processed When Twitch Bits Are Used

If you use Twitch Bits through this extension, Twitch handles the Bits event. The extension stores limited Bits usage information needed to unlock Power, prevent duplicate handling, help with troubleshooting, and keep operational records for extension functionality.

The following data is used for that:

  • Twitch transaction ID
  • Transaction receipt or reference provided by Twitch
  • Product SKU and product information
  • Broadcaster ID
  • Opaque user ID and Twitch User ID
  • Twitch username where available
  • Power unlocked inside the extension
  • Date and time of the Bits event

Power

Power is digital content used only inside this Twitch Extension for available interactions. Power has no cash value, is not legal tender or cryptocurrency, and is not a cash-equivalent balance. Power cannot be withdrawn, transferred outside the extension, sold, traded, or redeemed for cash.

This Data Is Used To

  • Identify the broadcaster channel where the extension is running
  • Identify the viewer for extension functionality
  • Show and update the viewer’s Power total
  • Handle Power unlocked through Twitch Bits use
  • Create and execute extension interaction requests
  • Send interaction data to the broadcaster’s connected SAMMI setup
  • Display recent interaction history to the broadcaster
  • Allow broadcasters to replay or cancel recent interactions
  • Prevent duplicate handling of Twitch Bits events
  • Store EULA and Privacy Policy acceptance status
  • Troubleshoot errors, abuse, failed interactions, or Bits event handling issues
  • Verify SAMMI Pro Membership where applicable

Broadcaster Configuration Data

Broadcasters may configure extension buttons, labels, descriptions, trigger names, styles, default button design, and related settings. This configuration is stored so the extension can load and display the broadcaster’s setup.

Moderation and Reporting

Configured interactions are reviewed for compliance with Twitch's Bits Acceptable Use Policy, Community Guidelines, and Terms of Service. Where an interaction or a channel is restricted, a record is kept of what was restricted, the reason, and the notice shown to the broadcaster together with their acknowledgement of it.

Violating interactions may be reported to Twitch. Such a report can include the channel concerned, its identifier, the configured content in question, and the measure that was applied. This is done to meet the obligations under which the extension is permitted to offer broadcaster-configured Bits products.

Retention

  • Recent interaction records: stored for up to 72 hours, then automatically deleted.
  • Bits usage records: stored for up to 365 days for duplicate prevention, operational records, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
  • Power: stored per broadcaster channel as long as needed to provide Power functionality for that channel.
  • Broadcaster configuration: stored until the broadcaster changes, overwrites, or removes the configuration, or until the service no longer needs it.
  • Twitch username cache: stored and refreshed periodically. Cached usernames may be refreshed after approximately 7 days.
  • Moderation records: stored for as long as the restriction applies and afterwards as a record of enforcement.
  • EULA / Privacy acceptance records: stored so users do not need to accept the same terms repeatedly.

Data Sharing

Personal data is not sold and is not used for advertising. Data is processed only as needed to operate the extension, provide SAMMI interactions, handle Power unlocked through Twitch Bits use, verify SAMMI Pro membership, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.

Beyond that, information about a configured interaction that violates Twitch policies may be reported to Twitch, as described under Moderation and Reporting.

Data Sent to Broadcasters

When an interaction is executed, relevant interaction data may be sent to the broadcaster’s connected SAMMI setup. This may include the broadcaster ID, opaque user ID, interaction name, trigger name, Power units related to the interaction, timestamp, and Twitch user ID and username if available.

Third-Party Services

The extension relies on Twitch for extension authorization, user identity information, Twitch Bits events, and extension-related APIs. Backend hosting, database, and API services may process data as needed to operate the extension.

Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect stored data and operate the service. However, no online service can guarantee complete security or uninterrupted availability.

Your Choices

If you do not want your interaction data processed as described here, do not use the extension. If the extension requires login or terms acceptance, you may decline, but the extension may not be available to you.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the extension, backend services, data retention, legal requirements, or operational needs. Continued use of the extension after changes means you acknowledge the updated policy.
